Since 1925,
The American Legion has sponsored a nationwide youth
baseball program. During these past seven decades, millions
of young people have enjoyed playing this sport. Each year,
Legionnaires raise millions of dollars for players to help
them learn the importance of teamwork, discipline,
leadership and good sportsmanship. They sponsor The
American Legion Baseball Program to give players an
opportunity to develop their skills, personal fitness,
leadership qualities …. and to have fun!

How to start
an American Legion Baseball Team |
Anyone
interested in playing or forming an American Legion Baseball
team must contact their local American Legion Post (locate
the address through the phone book white pages) or by
calling the Department (State) Baseball Chairman.
In
Illinois, the chairman is Mr. Harry Seiple of Freeport,
(815) 232-8063. Harry will be able to provide you with a
list of addresses and phone numbers of local American Legion
teams in your area. He can also provide a new team packet
which includes a copy of the state and national rules,
insurance information and registration forms.

A complete
